AEXGroup couriers make two stops a day, five days a week, at 270 Sovereign Bank branches, for a total of 2,700 stops each week. Among the items that drivers transport from one place to another are checks to be processed, inter-office mail, file boxes, supplies and small pieces of equipment, such as fax machines or telephones.

AEXGroup also fine-sorts Sovereign's inter-office mail and builds marketing kits for each branch through AEX Fulfillment Services. This work involves printing and delivering thrice-monthly internal marketing kits to all Sovereign branches about upcoming branch promotions, be they special car financing offers, new checking account plans or other promotions.

AEXGroup has been working for Sovereign since 1994. Prior to that time, the bank largely employed its own couriers. "We decided to out-source this function with qualified transportation resources. Today, AEXGroup does the lion's share of our extensive courier work," reports Tom Brunner, Transportation Manager of the Mid Atlantic Region of Sovereign Bank.
